About the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association

WHO: The BNA is led by an 11-member board, the members of which are elected for two-year terms. The Board meets monthly and works closely with several committees to accomplish the goals of the association.

WHAT: The BNA is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization committed to ensuring that Beaverdale remains a vital community in which to live.

WHEN: Formed in June 1990, the BNA quickly became one of the largest neighborhood associations in Des Moines. The association celebrated its 15-year anniversary in 2005.

WHERE: The Beaverdale neighborhood is generally defined as the community existing between 30th Street and 48th Place from the east and west and between Meredith and Forest avenues from the north and south. Click here for more specific boundaries.

WHY:
A primary goal of the BNA is to give all Beaverdale residents an active voice in the future of the neighborhood by working closely with the City of Des Moines, Polk County, Beaverdale businesses and organizations and neighbors to implement actions that cover the major issues facing the residential, commercial and public facets of the area.

The BNA MISSION is to promote the social welfare of the Beaverdale area by bringing about civic betterment and social improvements for the common good and general welfare of the people of the community.
