A primary goal of the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association is to give all Beaverdale residents an active voice in shaping the future of the neighborhood by working closely with the City of Des Moines.

The Beaverdale Village Revitalization Project will make Beaverdale’s commercial district as unique as the homes that are the essence of Beaverdale neighborhoods. BNA recognizes that it takes strong schools, welcoming parks and recreation, active churches, and vibrant businesses in addition to quality homes to make a strong and vital neighborhood.

In a recent research study, over 95% of the Beaverdale residents surveyed agreed that a healthy business district will benefit their property value and their quality of life.

The revitalization will focus on raising the economic value, physical value and social value of the Beaverdale commercial district. The effort will work to:

  • Strengthen existing businesses.
  • Attract unique new businesses.
  • Expand family-oriented activities and entertainment.
  • Provide adequate parking.

The Beaverdale Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy developed by RDG Planning & Design in conjuction with the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association and the Beaverdale Business Coalition is the comprehensive plan developed in July of 2004. It can be downloaded in full length by clicking here.
