Did you know that it is illegal to put signs of any kind on public property without a permit?
City Ordinance #14-259 states that it is illegal to put signs such as garage sales, real estate, etc. on public property. This includes the Urbandale Avenue median, utility poles and the strip of ground between sidewalks (or where they would be) and the street, as well as city parks and public buildings.
In our continuing effort to keep our neighborhood beautiful the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association monitors compliance with this ordinance. Priority is given to the Urbandale Avenue median so if you put a sign there you might find it on the ground with a sticker placed on it by BNA. City workers also remove the signs on public property.
Thanks for your cooperation with these efforts. |
