Help Beaverdale Remain Best Neighborhood

Each year the Des Moines Business Record publishes its “Best of Des Moines” edition, and as many of you may know, BEAVERDALE has been named the “Best Neighborhood to Live in the Metro” for two years running!  In addition, some of Beaverdale’s businesses were named to last year’s list as well; including Boesen’s the Florist, Grounds for Celebration and Cooney’s.

Those of us who live and work in Beaverdale already know how wonderful it is, but this award serves as an important reminder to others in the metro, that our colorful neighborhood is thriving and full of proud residents and unique businesses.

If you’re interested in promoting your neighborhood or voting for your favorite businesses, please fill out the attached ballot and send it to the Business Record.  You can either fax (288-0309) or mail it back (please see ballot for mailing address).  Ballots are due June 30th and the results will appear in the August 14th and 21st issue

Don’t Miss Beaverdale Jazz in July, July 15 at 5:00 p.m., Beaverdale Park

Beaverdale’s Jazz in July event will be “super-sized” for 2006 -- more music, more food, more drink, more fun.

Mark July 15th on your calendar for a great line-up of entertainment, featuring two bands on the Show Motion stage. R.E. Fusion will start at 5:00, and Brothers & Sons will begin at 7:00. Wrap-up is scheduled for 8:30 pm. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and come early to get a good spot.

Also new this year, local artists displaying their work before and between bands. There will be something for the entire family with ice cream from Kaleidoscoops, burgers, brats, and hot dogs from Hy-Vee.

Look for more information on the posters soon to be distributed in the neighborhood.
