BNA to Match Support of Beaverdale VFW Post #9127

As most of you are aware, the VFW Post #9127 at 4029 Urbandale Avenue suffered a severe fire that damaged the kitchen, lounge and “Wall of Honor,” which held plaques of many veterans of foreign war. The VFW was underinsured and a significant financial gap remains to make necessary repairs to the Beaverdale facility.

The Beaverdale Neighborhood Association would like to maximize the generosity of Beaverdale neighbors and match up to a total of $500 in community donations made to First American Bank at 2805 Beaver Avenue. Contributions can be dropped off at First American Bank, 2805 Beaver Avenue.

In addition to this contribution opportunity, there is a fund-raising event scheduled to support the VFW remodeling fund:

Friday December 29th, 5:00 p.m. Amvets, 2818 5th Avenue, Des Moines. Spaghetti dinner and auction until food is gone. Cost for the dinner is $7.50.
