BNA Mission
The Beaverdale neighborhood Association is neighbors working together to promote the social welfare of the Beaverdale area by bringing about civic betterment and social improvements for the common good and general welfare of the community.

The BNA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit organization. Your company may have a matching funds program.

Dear friends and neighbors,

After our long e-mail last week, here’s a relatively short one to remind you of some important upcoming Beaverdale meetings and events:

* Hy-Vee, Inc. reveals its proposal for building a new store near the intersection of Beaver and Douglas Avenues TONIGHT (Wednesday, August 22) at 6:00 p.m. at Hoover High School (cafeteria area). Please share your thoughts about this proposal with the BNA Board of Directors by e-mailing me now, after the meeting, or anytime at BNAPresident@beaverdale.org.

* The second and third of three initial public meetings scheduled by the Beaverdale – Main Street Initiative Design Committee for purposes of further introducing its Beaverdale master plan, a proposed framework to guide our neighborhood as it encounters change in years to come, will take place Thursday, August 23, and next Monday, August 27, each at 6:30 p.m. at the Northwest Community Center (5110 Franklin Avenue).

* The first meeting of the BNA Housing Stock subcommittee takes place Saturday, August 25, at 1:00 p.m. in the meeting room at Ace Hardware.

*  Beaverdale Fall Festival kicks off on Friday evening, September 21.  That’s right—Fall Festival is only 727 hours away!

*  Of course, this e-mail does not list all of the meeting and events that are going on in our neighborhood in the days and weeks to come. Be sure to visit the BNA website (beaverdale.org) for a community calendar of events, including the ARL Soggy Dogz Charity Dog Wash (taking place at Bone-a-Patreat (2701 Beaver) this Saturday, August 25, from noon to 3:00 p.m.), Beaverdale’s turn at cleaning up its designated portion of I-235, and a mass tree planting at Hoover High School.

See you around the neighborhood,

Bill
President, BNA
