Dear friends and neighbors, Although I’m sure you’re just starting to recover from Grass Seats Cinema and SCRUB, it’s time to get ready for two more stupendous Beaverdale events: Beaverdale Garden Walk Tickets for the Garden Walk can be purchased for $5.00 from local Beaverdale merchants A Kinder Touch, Back Country Outfitters, Beaverdale Books, Boesen the Florist, and Grounds for Celebration now and through June 30. Addresses and descriptions of each garden will be provided with your ticket, along with a map of Beaverdale. You can begin the tour at Calvin Community (4210 Hickman—where tickets will also be sold the day of the tour and there is plenty of parking). From there, a shuttle provided by Calvin Community will make rounds to the other gardens during the hours of the tour. Or plan to walk and ride, several are a short walk from each other. The fun doesn’t stop with the flowers. Each garden will have a unique display. There will be products for sale, art work, entertainment, refreshments, and even a chance to win a gift certificate! Show your ticket at Beaverdale Books for a special price on garden books. Take part in a scavenger hunt at A Kinder Touch and win a special prize. The Beaverdale Garden Walk has been organized by volunteers from the BNA and Beaverdale Main Street Initiative. Proceeds from the Garden Walk will benefit the neighborhood, including supporting beautification efforts. Contact Nancy Dunbar, chair of BNA’s Beautification Committee, at 255-2671 or nsdunbar@juno.com for more information. Beaverdale Jazz in July Beaverdale Jazz in July is presented by Metro Arts Alliance, the Beaverdale Main Street Initiative, the BNA, and presenting sponsor Carver Ace Hardware, with additional financial support from Calvin Community, Back Country Outfitters, Boesen the Florist, and Floors & More. See you around the neighborhood, Bill |
