BNA Mission
The Beaverdale neighborhood Association is neighbors working together to promote the social welfare of the Beaverdale area by bringing about civic betterment and social improvements for the common good and general welfare of the community.

The BNA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit organization. Your company may have a matching funds program.

Dear friends and neighbors,

We wanted to remind you about two BNA events coming up this weekend:

Grass Seats Cinema:  The second annual BNA Grass Seats Cinema will take place at dusk (approximately 8:45 p.m.) this Friday, June 15, in Ashby Park (on 38th between Adams and Amick). Playing on the big screen will be Back to the Future. This event is free, although there will be concessions available for purchase with all proceeds benefiting the BNA. Be sure to gather your friends, family, and neighbors—and your blankets and lawn chairs—and come out for a fun evening in the park! (DeLorean parking is limited, so walking or cruising over on your hoverboard is encouraged.)

SCRUB:  Our annual SCRUB will take place this Saturday, June 16, from 7:00 a.m. to Noon (sharp) at Oliver Plaza, 2339 Euclid Avenue (the new Polk County Office Building and former Target). Remember, there will be no yard waste accepted at any of the SCRUB sites this year (all yard waste must be taken to the Metro Compost Center at 1601 Harriett Street). Please keep in mind that if you are unable to make it to our “official” SCRUB you can go to any of the other sites throughout the summer. Be sure to visit the city public works department’s website for a list of alternative dates and sites as well as the complete SCRUB guidelines: dmgov.org/departments/PW/scrub_2007.htm.

Other Beaverdale Events:  Don’t forget to visit the BNA website (beaverdale.org) to check out our community calendar of events, including the Beaverdale Mural Celebration (taking place tonight at Uptempo Music from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and featuring a free picnic dinner), Preschool Moms Group meetings, local music performances, and much, much more.

See you around the neighborhood,

Bill

President, BNA
